As there was no improvement in the situation, the House was adjourned for the day.

When the Lok Sabha reassembled at noon after first adjournment, opposition members from Congress, TMC and Left continued their protest in the well, asking for a discussion on demonetisation with the provision of voting.

This was not agreed to by treasury benches. During zero hour, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan also expressed deep concern over the conduct of some opposition members for obstructing the other members from expressing their views in the House. She warned them not to do so in future. Amidst the noisy scene, several members raised the matters of urgent public importance. Later, she adjourned the House for the day.
