Singapore has been named as the top country in terms of digital governance. It is followed by Norway and UAE. India figures at eighth rank in the list of 10 countries surveyed by Accenture, one of the software giants in the world. The digital governance refers to offering online portals to access public services to employing digital channels and social media to communicate and engage with citizens. The report says the demand for digital Governance is rising in India and the emerging economies which will enhance efficiency and output.In India's context the report says, the Government has embarked on e-Governance model and the infrastructure which would pay the dividends in the long run. The report based on survey of 5,000 respondents in ten countries including Brazil, Germany, India, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the United Kingdom and the United States.They were adjudged on the basis of Citizen Service Delivery Experience, Citizen Satisfaction and the Service Maturity which reflects the level to which a government has developed a digital presence, in terms of publishing, interactions and online transactions.
