The stand-off between Delhi University and University Grants Commission continues for the fifth day today over the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme, FYUP. University officials are still silent on the issue and there is no official confirmation about when the university is going to begin the admission process.
DU yesterday sent a proposal of three year honours course to UGC to end the stalemate over the admission issue. Addressing a press conference, University's media coordinator Malay Neerav said, the University is awaiting the response of the UGC.
Neerav said, if the proposal is accepted by the UGC, it would be easier for the University to start the admission process without delay and the students will be admitted under the three year honours programme.
Neerav said the admission seekers will not be required to apply afresh. He said the proposal has been prepared by a group of renowned academics.
Earlier, the UGC had issued a fresh ultimatum to the University asking it to begin the admission process under the 3-year course from yesterday.
