Delhi traders call for half day bandh?

<br/>Delhi traders today called for a half-day bandh in the National Capital in protest of the Government's proposal in its budget to hike Value Added Tax (VAT) on a range of commodities. <br/><br/>Traders are demanding the roll back the proposal of increasing VAT on diesel, CNG and other items. Our correspondent reports various markets across the city including Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Kashmere Gate, Rajouri Garden and Rohini. <br/><br/>The General Secretary of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Mr Praveen Khandelwal said that it is a symbolic gesture, hoping for the government to take a corrective action in the Budget. <br/><br/>He said that the hike will result into migration of business from Delhi to other states thereby causing a loss of about Rs 5,000 crore in revenue.
