Delhi to introduce online assessment system for govt depts

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Delhi government will soon introduce an online assessment system. Under the system, performance of various departments will be monitored and points will be given to them on the basis of their performances on a range of parameters. Officials said, the 'Result Assessment Framework' is being introduced after studying similar assessment measuring mechanisms developed by Canada, New Zealand and Finland. They said, under the system, even movements of various files will be tracked and time taken to clear them or move them further by various departments will be monitored. The system will encourage competition among various departments as government is also considering giving awards to the departments with maximum scores. The officials said, the main objective of introduction of such a system is to improve accountability as well as to improve service delivery to the people of the city.
