Delhi to come under President's rule; Assembly to be kept under suspended animation

Delhi will come under President's rule after issuance of notification with the Assembly remaining under suspended animation. The Union Cabinet accepted the recommendation of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung last evening in this regard. In a report to the Centre, the Lieutnant Governor did not favour dissolution of the 70-member Delhi Assembly as recommended by the council of ministers headed by Arvind Kejriwal when it decided to quit on Friday.

Arvind Kejriwal has criticised the Lt Governor for not recommending dissolution of the House saying that Mr Jung was bound by the decision taken by the Cabinet of a majority government.

Aam Aadmi Party will launch its anti graft national campaign against Congress and BJP at a rally in Haryana on Sunday next week. Talking to reporters after AAP's Political Affairs Committee meeting in New Delhi, party spokesperson Yogendra Yadav said that AAP will fight the general elections under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.
