Delhi to become role model in enforcement of labour laws

Delhi Labour and Industry Minister Ramakant Goswami on Tuesday said the government has been enforcing all labour and industrial laws with sincerity and commitment and the city will soon become a role model as far as enforcement of these laws are concerned.Mr Goswami said this while addressing a two-day regional consultation on approach to 12th Five Years Plan at Delhi Secretariat. He said that the government has fixed the minimum wages which are highest in the country. Representatives from seven Northern states also participated in the regional consultation and submitted their priorities in respect of the Five Year Plan. Mr Goswami also said the government is keen to bring Delhi at the top of IT sectors.A knowledge based IT Park is being set up at Bapraula village which will be linked with the Delhi Metro service. This will come up over 71 acres of land with a cost of 1500 crore rupees which is expected to provide it will provide indirect employment to 1,70,000 people and direct employment to one lakh people.
