Almost 3000 students participated in a run against drug abuse at India Gate in the National Capital today to spread awareness against the use of drugs. <br/>The event was organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau of India in association with the Delhi Government to mark International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Speaking at the function, DG NCB, Mr OPS Malik said that spreading awareness should be a sustained effort and he called upon the media to launch a campaign against drug abuse. Several other functions are also being organized across the country to observe the day. <br/>The National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is organizing an event to create public awareness against drug abuse. The International Day Against Drug Abuse is held every year on 26th of June to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represent to society, especially to the young.
