Delhi records coldest day of the season

Delhi recorded the coldest day of the season on Tuesday as Met department predicts the cold wave conditions to continue in the northern India. The National Capital recorded maximum temperature 8 degree below normal. It stood at 12.7 degrees. The minimum during the last night was 3.2 degree which is three degrees below normal. Director Meteorological department B.P. Yadav told AIR correspondent that apart from northern India, the cold wave is prevailing in the eastern parts of the country including Orissa. He said people may get respite from the cold wave in the coming days.AIR correspondent reports that chilly winds continue to blow across the city adding to the woes of the people.Parts of Uttar Pradesh are also reeling under severe cold wave. Allahabad shivered under the intense cold wave as mercury dipped below three deg C, the first time in seven years. According to PTI 13 lives were lost in the state due to cold since Monday.
