Heavy rains lashed the national capital today with the city receiving one of the heaviest showers of the season. The rain guage at Safdarjung recorded 89.2 mm of rainfall since morning. Heavy downpour resulted in water logging and traffic jams at all major crossings. The MET department predicts widespread rainfall to continue over the next 24 hours. The national capital has received total of 465. 1 mm of rainfall this season which is 6 percent above the normal.
