The government has ordered closure of all pubs and discotheques in the national capital Delhi by one a.m. in the night.
The move comes as part of the steps taken by the government to ensure safety of women in the city in the wake of last Sunday's gang rape case. This was announced by Union Home Secretary R K Singh in New Delhi.
Addressing the media in a joint press conference with Delhi Police Commissioner, he said, the charge sheet in the case will be filed soon and the government will request for day to day trail.
The Home Secretary claimed that police has sufficient evidence for the conviction of the accused. He said, the police has intensified action against buses with tinted glass and the vehicles found with tinted glasses will be impounded.
The staff of buses, autos and taxies will be verified and strict action will be taken to curb drunken driving and other illegal activities.
He said, drivers with license from other states will be put to test before being allowed to ply vehicles in the national capital. The Home Secretary said, advisories have also been issued to other states and Union Territories to ensure safety of women.
Meanwhile, all six accused in Delhi gang rape case have been nabbed by the police .
The condition of the victim continues to be critical even though she has been taken off the ventilator at the Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi.
