Delhi Police issues alert after driver of missing Pathankot taxi found dead

Reports say one car was hijacked near Pathankot. As per reports three persons hired an Alto taxi from Gaggal of Himachal for Pathankot and dropped the body of driver Vijay Kumar at Kotla of Himachal on the way. These three persons then fled towards Pathankot.<br/><br/>SSP Pathankot R K Bakshi said that after getting information alert has been sounded in the area and search of car is on. He said that the case has been registered in jawali police station of Himachal. <br/><br/>Delhi Police has issued an alert about the missing taxi. In a tweet, the Delhi Police said, a white colour Alto taxi having a number—HP 01D 2440 has been missing and the search operation are on.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh, Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kumar has ruled out the possibility of involvement of terrorists in the murder of a Himachali driver of Alto car hired for Pathankot by three occupants on 17th January. The body of driver Vijay Kumar was found near a bridge on 20th January, three days after he went missing. The car was hired from Gaggal near Dharamshala in Kangra district of the state. <br/><br/>Talking to media persons in Shimla today DGP said that investigations have not shown any terror link so far with the murder. He, however said an alert has been sounded in the state and officers are on the job to identify and trace the accused and to recover the vehicle.<br/><br/> Kangra Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dullar said that the cause of death of Vijay Kumar was strangulation and his mobile was lying beside the body. He said that police have got some clues from the CCTV footage and investigations don't suggest any terrorist angle. There could be a drug angle as the victim was in jail for 18 months in a drug case, he said.<br/><br/>An earlier report said the missing car was hijacked near Pathankot. SSP Pathankot R K Bakshi said that alert has been sounded in the area and a search for the car is on. Delhi Police also issued an alert about the taxi, a white colour Alto having a number—HP 01D 2440, hired by the three unknown persons in Himachal Pradesh.

Delhi Police issues alert after driver of missing Pathankot taxi found dead

Delhi Police today issued an alert about a taxi hired from Pathankot whose driver has been found dead. In a tweet, the Delhi Police said, a white colour Alto taxi having a number—HP 01D 2440 was hired by three unknown persons. The driver of the taxi Vijay Kumar from Gaggal, Kangada was found dead on Wednesday. Police said that the car has been missing and the search operation are on.
