Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the Delhi police to draw a long-term plan and strategy to instil confidence among the people that they can feel secure and safe. Addressing a Delhi Police raising day function in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, people have a lot of expectation form Delhi Police and this requires to put extra effort and they need to be extra alert and cautious. <br/><br/>He said apart from maintaining law and order, Delhi police are also entrusted with a massive task of managing traffic and they efficiently performing all its assigned duties. <br/> <br/>Mr Singh hoped that the performance of Delhi Police is recognised not only at national level but also internationally. He said Delhi Police is seen by countrymen not just as a state police but police of the entire nation, as Delhi is the capital of the nation. <br/><br/>Home Minister congratulated Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik and his entire team for the commendable work they are doing. <br/><br/>Mr Singh announced to provide five crore rupees for Delhi police martyr fund and also gave away police medals to Police personnel on the occasion.<br/><br/>
