Anna Hazare was today detained by Delhi Police in New Delhi preventing him from going ahead with his proposed hunger strike. Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told AIR that Anna Hazare and his close associates were detained around 8 this morning.Anna Hazare was taken into custody from a residential area in Mayur Vihar before he was to proceed to the venue of his fast in J P Park where prohibitory orders are in place. Earlier, some senior police officials met Hazare in a bid to convince him not to undertake his fast.
