Delhi Police have constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the rape of a 14-year-old Manipuri girl allegedly by her landlord's son two days ago.

The Police said that the SIT, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) B S Jaiswal, got the girl's statement recorded before a magistrate today.

The accused in the case, Ashish alias Vicky, has already been arrested. The SIT will thoroughly investigate the case, collect scientific evidence and file a charge sheet as soon as possible, police said.

Other then Jaiswal, the teams consists of officials who had investigated the December 16 gangrape case and filed a charge sheet in that case within a record 17 days, they said.
