Delhi police today charge sheeted top Naxal leader Kobad Ghandy, saying he is having close links with his Maoists in Nepal and is trying step up activities of banned CPI (Maoist) in the country. The investigators said Ghandy, 63, had confessed to being in Nepal many times and having met Nepali Maoist leader Prachanda to strengthen CPI (Maoist) in the country.<br/><br/>The police alleged this in the over 700-page chargesheet filed in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja. The Delhi police's Special Cell claimed he was residing in the national capital with a fictitious identity for the last three years.<br/><br/>The police charged Ghandy, arrested on September 20 from national capital, with various offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act which carry sentence upto life imprisonment.
