Delhi Police averts terror incident, arrests three Indian Mujahideen

The Delhi Police today claimed to have averted a major terror incident during the festive season in the National Capital with the arrest of 3 suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists. They were also involved in the low-intensity blasts in Pune in August this year.

Talking to media persons in New Delhi, Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that the trio were close to fugitive Indian Mujahideen chief Yasin Bhatkal and Lashkar e Toiba, LeT operative Fayaaz Quazi.

He said that Delhi Police's anti-terror unit Special Cell has recovered 4 kg of explosives, 8 detonators, 9 -volt batteries, circuit and nails and some other incriminating material from the them.

The Police Commissioner said that interrogation of 26/11 terror attacks key plotter Abu Jundal led to arrest of the trio. He said that all apprehended persons belong to Maharashtra.
