Delhi Police arrests four suspected terrorists from Rajasthan including a Pakistani

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested four suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists from Rajasthan. Special Commissioner (Special Cell), S N Srivastava told media in New Delhi that one of the arrested terrorists is a Pakistani terrorist, Zia-Ur-Rehman alias Waqas, who was deputed by Pakistan's ISI.

He said that Waqas, arrested in Ajmer yesterday, is wanted in connection with several blasts in the country including the serial blasts at Zaveri Bazaar in Mumbai in July, 2011.

The Special Commissioner said, Waqas's was trying to meet his aides in Ajmer to plan a terrorist attack and the other three arrested terrorists are from Rajasthan. Mr. Srivastava said, a huge cache of arms and explosives including detonator and electronic circuits were recovered from those arrested.

The Special Commissioner told AIR that a Special Court has remanded Waqas to 10-day police custody after he was brought to Delhi. 24-year old Waqas is said to be the close aid of top Indian Mujahiddin Commander, Yasin Bhatkal.

Speaking to media persons in Mumbai, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde described the arrest of four terrorists as a big success.
