There is a good news for residents of East Delhi and Ghaziabad as Delhi Metro today extended its network from Yamuna Bank to Anand Vihar. Union Urban Development Minister Mr. S. Jaipal Reddy today inaugurated this route at a function at Yamuna Bank station in East Delhi. He along with Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit flagged off the first train from Yamuna Bank to Anand Vihar. This Metro line will be opened for public from Thursday and it will have regular service from 6 A.M. to 11 P.M. The highlight of this line is that Anand Vihar Metro Station will bring together the Metro, the Indian Railways and ISBT, the three major mode of transport of the city. 6.25 km.-long Yamuna Bank-Anand Vihar section is the fourth line of the Metro network and has five stations – Laxmi Nagar, Nirman Vihar, Preet Vihar, Karkardooma and Anand Vihar. About one lakh commuters are expected to travel on this line everyday and it will take only 11 minutes to reach Anand Vihar from Yamuna Bank. <br/>
