Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has sent a report to President Pranab Mukherjee on the current political situation in the national capital. Mr. Jung has submitted the report after consultations with Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) and BJP over government formation.
The AAP has set 18 conditions for Congress and BJP before taking their support on forming a government. Talking to reporters after meeting with Lieutenant Governor earlier in the day, Party Convener Arvind Kejriwal said he has written letters to both the Congress and the BJP Presidents in this regard.
He said once AAP gets response from both parties it will take public opinion over the issue. The 18 points raised in the letter include ending VIP culture in the capital, audit of electricity companies and removal of MLA local funds scheme, passage of Janlokpal Bill and full statehood for Delhi.
Meanwhile, Congress has alleged that AAP is running away from its responsibility. Reacting to AAP conditions for the Congress before it can decide on forming a government, party leader and MLA Harun Yosuf said in New Delhi that his party has already pledged unconditional support and there is no need of Kejriwal to put conditions on Congress.
Party MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely said that preconditions for support are about administrative measures that AAP can implement if it assumes power.
Hitting back at Kejriwal, BJP leader Balbir Punj said the latest statement by the AAP shows arrogance which does not work in public life.
