Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung today expressed disappointment over inappropriate references made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a letter sent to him about the Prime Minister on the appointment of Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women.

In a letter to Kejriwal, Mr Jung said that the information conveyed through LG office has been misconstrued. He said, his office never intended to negate the position of Chief Minister or authority of the elected government.

He alleged that time and again notifications have been issued without seeking his approval. He appealed Mr Kejriwal to send all files for ex- post-facto approval to avoid legal complications and safeguard government interest.

He also dismissed the report that the office of the Chairperson, DCW was locked and files taken away as fully untrue. Mr Jung said, Chief Minister must respect the obligation to consult him for important appointments. He said, file relating to appointment of DCW has not been processed properly and it needs to be resubmitted.

The Lieutenant Governor also drew the attention of the Mr Kejriwal on service matters and said he has always honoured Chief Minister's proposals on transfers and postings of IAS and DANICS officers.
