Delhi heading for fresh assembly polls; BJP, Congress, AAP decline to form govt

Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung is all set to recommend dissolution of Delhi Assembly as all three political parties have expressed their inability to form the government. Mr Jung today held consultations with representatives of BJP, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress on government formation during which they favoured fresh polls in the city. A release issued by LG office said, Mr Jung will be sending his report to the President Pranab Mukherjee on the outcome of talks held with the three parties.

Our correspondent reports that the political parties are against formation of a new government now prospect of fresh polls have brightened. Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Manish Sisodia said the party wants fresh polls in the city. Congress leader Haroon Yusuf wants polls to be held along with Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP leader Srikant Sharma told AIR that his party will abide by the decision of the LG. Delhi is under president rule and assembly under suspended animation ever since Arvind Kejriwal government resigned in February this year. Earlier, the Supreme Court had given 11th November deadline to take final call on the matter.
