The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea seeking audio-visual recording of its proceedings and also those of its subordinate courts.A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Sanjiv Khanna rejected the plea supported by retired Justice S N Dhingra.Justice Dhingra had referred the issue to a larger bench of the court on his last working day in office.While dismissing the plea, the bench cited various Supreme Court rulings regarding legislative enactments. The bench said that framing of rules is a matter of policy and no mandamus could be issued to higher or lower courts for audio-visual recording of the court proceedings.
