The Delhi government has withdrawn the vat on LPG . As a result the cooking gas cylinder will cost 309 rupees from the 1st of April. This was announced by the Finance Minister Mr. A K Walia in the Delhi Assembly today. It may be recalled that Mr. Walia had proposed the withdrawl of subsidy of 40 rupees on the cooking gas cylinder which would have increased the cost of the cylinder to 322 rupees from the present 282 rupees. With the withdrawl of vat on LPG, now the cylinder will cost 27 rupees more instead of 40 rupees more than the existing rate. The Delhi Finance Minister also announced 5 per cent exemption on CNG.
