In a move to provide relief from the recent hike in petroleum products, Delhi Government has decided to reduce diesel prices by 37 paise in the national capital and LPG cylinders by 40 rupees for BPL and Antyodaya families. Diesel will now cost Rs 40.75 a litre in Delhi for all consumers while LPG will be priced at 355.35 rupees per cylinder for families covered under BPL and Antyodaya schemes. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit on Monday. However, consumers in the national capital not in the BPL and Antyodaya scheme will have to shell out 395.45 rupees an LPG cylinder after the latest hike. Earlier, Diesel prices rose to 41.12 rupees a litre after the hike of 3 rupees a litre announced by the Centre, while domestic LPG price went up by 50 rupees a cylinder and kerosene by two rupees a litre.
