Delhi Govt to monitor nursery admission process: Arvinder Singh Lovely

Delhi Government on Wednesday said that it will cancel the nursery admission process for any school that is found violating guidelines by asking details of educational qualification and financial status of parents. The admission process for nursery classes has already been started in schools in the national capital and will end on the 31st of March this year. Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely chaired a meeting of top officials of the department and asked the concerned officials to visit schools in person to check the admission process. He said the minimum age for children to be admitted in schools after pre-nursery is four years. On admission in Economically Weaker Section category, Mr Lovely said, if the seats are not filled in schools by 31st of March 2011, the government will re-advertise such seats for this category.
