Delhi Government will install Electronic Passenger Information System at various bus stops in the national capital which enables the commuters to know about the arrival time of Delhi Transport Corporation, DTC buses and schedules for various destinations. According to the Delhi Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, in the first phase the passenger information system will be introduced in over 100 bus stops in the next two months. He said by the middle of next year all the bus stops will have the system.
Delhi has around 2,500 DTC bus stops. The Transport Department, DTC will also introduce some others passenger friendly measures in the coming days as its financial health has improved significantly after induction of the low floor buses last year. The daily average revenue collection has increased to 3.5 crore rupees against 75 lakh rupees a few months back. Currently, DTC operates around 6,500 buses including around 4,000 low floor buses in the city.
