Delhi Government has decided to constitute “Delhi Arogya Kosh” to provide financial assistance to poor patients suffering from critical diseases.The decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit.Talking to reporters after the meeting, Mrs Dikshit said that the government will release an amount of 100 crore rupees for this Kosh.All those patients who have been issued either a BPL or Antodya card will be eligible for this scheme.The maximum assistance up to 1.5 lakh rupees will be provided to the patient.However in case of certain treatments like kidney transplantation and liver transplantation, the maximum assistance up to 2.5 lakh rupees will be admissible on one time basis.
