The Delhi Government has decided to bring all its departments under the Right to Service Act, which will enable Delhiites to get their work done from the Government in a time-bound manner.
Chief Secretary P K Tripathi said under the 'Delhi Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery of Services Act', government officials would have to cough up financial penalty for delay in services.
Tripathi on Friday held a high-level meeting of all heads of departments and instructed them to gear up to strictly implement the Act.
The Delhi Government had earlier said only a few departments would come under the law. The legislation, which was passed by the Delhi Assembly in March, will come into effect from September 15.
