Delhi govt to ACB: File criminal cases against Deora, Moily, Ambani & others in ‘irregularities’ in gas pricing

The Delhi government today asked its Anti Corruption Branch, ACB, to file criminal cases against former Union Minister Murli Deora, Oil Minister Veerappa Moily, Reliance Industries Chiarman Mukesh Ambani and others in the alleged irregularties in gas pricing.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr Kejriwal said, the ACB, has also been directed to file a case against former Director General, Hydrocarbons, V K Sibal. Demanding that the hike in price of natural gas, which is to be hiked from 1st April, should be kept in abeyance, he said, he will write to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in this connection. Mr Kejriwal alleged that the Reliance Industries has produced 18 per cent less gas against the target of 80 million unit.

AIR correspondent reports, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs last year approved the C. Rangarajan formula for pricing domestic gas at an average of international gas hub prices and actual cost of importing gas into India. The price of gas in April, when the formula will be applicable, is estimated to be 8.2 to 8.4 dollars per million British thermal unit as against the current 4.2 dollars.
