The Centre will give few more days to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to explore the possibility of forming a government in Delhi. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told reporters in New Delhi today, the government has asked Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, whether AAP sought time to form government.
AIR Correspondent reports that Mr Jung has already recommended President's rule in Delhi with the new assembly in suspended animation.
On the issue of alleged sexual harassment of a law intern by former Supreme Court Judge, Justice AK Ganguly, Home Minister said, his Ministry sought Law Ministry's views on sending a Presidential reference to the Supreme Court to probe the allegations. The move came after President Pranab Mukherjee referred to the Home Ministry a letter by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seeking Justice Ganguly's removal from the post of Chairman, West Bengal Human Rights Commission.
Replying to question on illegal surveillance of a woman architect by Gujarat government, Mr Shinde said that center will take a decision soon over conducting a probe.
Meanwhile, BJP has taken a strong exception to proposed probe saying it is a state matter and the Centre should not interfere. Senior Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters in New Delhi that Congress should not raise this issue which is baseless.
