Delhi government has decided to exempt Ramkrishna Mission from paying VAT on sale of cassettes, CDs and other items. The decision was taken by Delhi Cabinet presided overby Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Delhi Finance Minister A K Walia said that the organisation had requested the government to exempt it from paying VAT on such items. He said the estimated financial implications on granting exemption of VAT will be around more than one lakh per annum.
