Aiming at providing some relief to people from spiralling prices of essential commodities, Delhi government today began sale of ten varieties of pulses in nearly 400 outlets, including all Mother Dairy booths. In these outlets, pulses will be available at 5 to 10 rupees less than the market rates. Launching the scheme, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said her government is taking all possible steps to rein in price rise and it will come down hard on the hoarders and black-marketers. Expressing concern over rising prices of sugar, She also announced that the National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India Limited, NAFED will soon start selling sugar at lower rates in the city. Officials said one kilogram packets of ten varieties of pulses have been made available in nearly 400 outlets, including Kendriya Bhandars and Mother Dairy booths, besides some other selected outlets. Mrs Dikshit said the government would soon start a massive campaign to check whether retail outlets across the city are selling pulses and other food items at actual rates. <br/>
