Delhi Govt assures to consider hike in auto-rickshaw fares

<br/>Delhi Government has assured the auto drivers that it will consider their demand of increasing the auto fares. The statement came after the auto drivers staged a protest and threatened to go on strike from Monday against the hike in CNG prices in Delhi and National Capital Region.<br/><br/>Indraprastha Gas Limited had increased the prices of Compressed Natural Gas by 5.60 rupees per kilogram. <br/><br/>In Delhi, CNG will now cost 27.50 rupees per kilogram while in Noida and Ghaziabad it will be available at 30.60 rupees per kilogram from Thursday. This is the fifth hike in prices of CNG in less than a year.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that out of over 2.5 lakh vehicles running on CNG in the capital, 80 thousands are auto rickshaws. Commuters faced lot of problems today as the auto drivers charged exorbitant prices.
