The three member committee to probe alleged financial irregularities in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has submitted its report to the Delhi government recommending suspension of DDCA. The committee was set up following the complaints received by Chief Minister's office about alleged irregularities in DDCA's functioning. The committee, in its report, said an interim committee of professionals should be appointed to replace DDCA.

It also recommended appointing a professional body of cricketers to run cricket administration in the city and said a commission of inquiry should be set up to probe various alleged irregularities including financial bungling in DDCA. The probe panel also recommended bringing the cricket administration under the Right to Information Act to ensure transparency. The Committee comprised of Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Secretary,Sports and Delhi government's senior standing counsel.

Meanwhile, Delhi government said, it is examining the report and will soon take a decision on the matter. The government also clarified that the hosting of India- South Africa Test Match in Delhi is not connected to the probe report.

In a statement, the city government said, some vested interests made a desperate attempt to link the probe into DDCA wrong doings and financial irregularities with the hosting of the Test Match. It said, Delhi government cannot interfere in the proceedings before tax authorities and any attempt to link the AAP government with the DDCA tax matter is clearly false and misleading.
