Delhi gang rape: Fast track court starts hearing of charges against 5 accused, victim's friend testifies

The trial in the Delhi gang rape case began today with police filing a supplementary chargesheet. Besides an autopsy report from the Singapore hospital was also attached. The 28-year-old male friend of the December 16th Delhi gang rape victim, today appeared before a fast track court in New Delhi to testify about the incident to which he is the sole eyewitness.

Beside the victim's male friend, the court had also summoned three other prosecution witness to depose before the judge in the case.

A fast-track court on Delhi on Saturday framed charges against five accused in the December gangrape case and put them on trial on various counts including conspiracy to abduct the 23-year-old girl and sexually assault and murder her.
On February 2nd, all the five adult accused in the case pleaded not guilty to the charges framed against them by the fast track court. The court had framed charges under various sections of the IPC for offences which include gang rape, murder, attempt to murder, unnatural offences, dacoity, conspiracy and kidnapping.
