Delhi: Diesal and cooking gas to cost more

Diesel and cooking gas to cost more in Delhi. The Delhi finance Minister, Dr. A.K. Walia while presenting the budget for the 2010-11, in the assembly announced withdrawal of subsidy on cooking gas. The gas cylinder will now cost 40 rupees more. <br/><br/>The VAT on diesel will go up from 12 to 20 per cent raising the cost of diesel by 2rupee 37 paise a litre. <br/><br/>Pure Ghee, Mobile Phones, Tractor Tubes and tyre, dry fruit, Coffee, locks, tea ,glucose and tyres will cost more as VAT on these items is proposed to be increased. <br/><br/>However, food grain items including Sooji and Maida have been spared. Dr. Walia said that the funds provided for the Commonwealth Games are inadequate and urged the centre to allocate more.<br/>
