Delhi Court awards 3-yr jail term to MLA in attempt to murder case

A Delhi Court today awarded three years jail term to a sitting Congress MLA and three others in a seven-year-old attempt to murder case. Additional Sessions Judge V K Bansal also imposed a fine of 60,000 rupees each on the convicts including Congress MLA from Rajouri Garden Dayanand Chandila. The court, however, granted them bail on furnishing a personal and surety bond of 30,000 rupees each. It had on Friday convicted the accused, Chandila and<br/>Nawab Singh, Meghraj and Manoj under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and other provisions of the IPC. An FIR was registered with Tilak Nagar Police Station on December 11, 2003 on a complaint by Sudesh Chandela alleging that the accused had tried to kill him.<br/>
