Delhi Chief Minister Mrs Shiela Dikshit today unfurled the tricolour at a State level Independence Day function at Chhatrasal Satadium in the national capital. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Dikshit outlined her priorities for the city which included infrastructure development, improving educational standards and helping the budding sports persons. She said that the government has strived hard to bing substantial improvement in transport sector. She said, to ease traffic , Mono Rail lines would be laid in congested localities. Mrs Dikshit also said that the government has decide to regularize at one go over 900 unauthorized colonies very soon. Acknowledging wrestler Sushil Kumar's Olympic feat, she said the city government will provide all the required facilities and basic infrastructure to budding sports persons. The Chief Minister also said that Delhi government has earmarked 65 per cent of the total budget for the social sector.
