Delhi CM releases Ecological Code for Commonwealth Games

Delhi Chief Minister, Mrs Sheila Dikshit today released an ecological code for Commonwealth Games 2010 under which a series of measures are being taken by the state government as well as CWG organising committee to cut down on carbon emissions during the mega sporting event.<br/><br/> Delhi 2010 Ecological Code targets to minimise the carbon footprint of the event by taking various environment friendly measures like waste management, energy efficiency and planting of saplings. <br/><br/>The Chief Minister said, the CWG in Delhi will be the cleanest ever in the history of the Games and government as well as the organising committee are taking various measures like massive plantation of saplings, energy conservation and other steps.<br/><br/>Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman, Suresh Kalmadi and Union Minister of State for External Affairs were among those present on the occasion.<br/>
