Delhiites wrapped themselves up in more woollens today as the national capital woke up to a chilly and foggy morning with the mercury plummeting to the season's lowest of 7.4 degree Celsius. The capital is likely to get chillier ahead of Christmas with the Weatherman predicting minimum and maximum temperatures falling below average levels. The city has been experiencing chilly weather for the past couple of days.<br/><br/>The MeT Department said, the drop in temperature is due to the snowfall in upper parts of the country and cool winds blowing to the northern plains. Today's minimum, which is one degree below normal for this time of the year, is the lowest for the season so far.<br/><br/>A thick layer of fog also engulfed the city skyline in the morning reducing the visibility to 500 metres. The flight movement was not affect due to fog.<br/><br/>The Weatherman has predicted the possibility of the city being engulfed by shallow fog in the morning.<br/>
