Delhi Government has ordered judicial inquiry into East Delhi building collapse. Former Delhi High Court Judge Justice Lokeshwar Prashad to conduct the inquiry and will file report in three months.Rescue operations continue at the site of house collapse in East Delhi to search for about 20 people still feared buried under the debris. No more bodies have so far been recovered since Tuesday night.Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police, Dharmendar Kumar said, the number of injured has gone up to 82. Some of the injured have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. AIR correspondent who visited LNJP hospital reports, a few injured are serious while others are recovering fast. The death toll in the tragedy has gone up to 67.Speaking to AIR correspondent, Chunchun Yadav who lost seven of his relatives broke down while narrating the tale of his woes.Additional Deputy Commission of Police said, they are questioning the owner of the unauthorised five storey building Amrit Singh who was arrested on Tuesday.The building inhabited by labourers from Bihar and West Bengal is located near the Yamuna River in East Delhi which collapsed around 8.15 PM on Monday. The residents staying in three nearby buildings have been shifted in the make-shift camps.AIR correspondent after visiting the ill-fated site adds the debris is expected to be cleared by tomorrow morning.The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, MCD, has asked the occupants of 38 buildings in the area to evacuate immediately. According to a MCD spokesman, these buildings have been categorised as dangerous. He said during a survey, basements of these buildings were found to be water-filled. The spokesman added that the MCD is carrying survey within a radius of 300 metres from Pushta Road where the building collapsed.Meanwhile, MCD Works Committee Chairman Jagdish Mamgain has called for strict action against those responsible for allowing illegal construction. He has also pleaded not to post tainted officers in the Corporation and stressed the need to stop illegal constructions at the initial stage only.
