The 20th edition of New Delhi World Book Fair today started at Pragati Maidan in the national capital. Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal inaugurated the biennial nine-day event.Speaking on the occasion, Sibal said the vision of the Government was not only for inclusive growth but also creating an inclusive learning society. He said that books were the best medium to communicate the idea of creating a free democratic and equitable society among the children.AIR correspondent reports that this year the theme of the Book Fair is the Centenary Celebration of Indian Cinema. Apart from this, Centenary celebrations of completion of 100 years of Delhi as a national capital as well as to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore are also the centre of attractions during the fair on which special pavillions have been set up.Entry for general public will be allowed from 11 am to 8 pm. The fair will be featuring 1,300 exhibitors from across the world. The foreign publishers, who are participating in the event to showcase their publishing on various subjects, include Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Germany, China, France, Iran and Britain.
