As per the latest trends in the counting of votes in Delhi Assembly elections, BJP continues to maintain its lead in 36 constituencies followed by Aam Admi Party in 22 seats. Congress is leading in eight seats while Bahujan Samaj Party is leading in two constituencies.
The three-time Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit is trailing in the New Delhi constituency behind her AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal by over 5 thousand 500 votes.
Similarly, several of her cabinet colleagues and senior Congress leaders including Assembly Speaker Dr Yoganand
Shastri, Haroon Yusuf, Mangat Ram Singal are also trailing in their respective constituencies.
AAP's nominee Shazia Ilmi is trailing
behind BJP rival Anil Sharma by about one thousand votes in R K Puram Constituency.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit has tendered her resignation to the Lt. Governor Nazeeb Jung.
