A Delhi based NGO has come with a Green Rating Project report on the environmental performance of 21 iron and steel plants in the country. Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma informed the Rajya Sabha today that his ministry has taken report by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) with a positive spirit by the steel sector for improvement in their environmental performance. He said Indian Steel Plants are committed to provide a safe and healthy work environment for the employees including contract workers.
