Delhi Autorickshaws, taxis strike tomorrow

Delhi Transport Corporation, DTC, has made all arrangements to clear the extra rush in the view of the Auto Rickshaw Taxi strike called by various auto taxi unions tomorrow in the national capital demanding hike in fares and protesting government's directive to install GPS system.DTC will deploy extra buses across the city from railway stations, interstate bus terminals, airport, hospitals and other important places. The Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami has directed all the Depot Managers and Regional Managers of the DTC to ensure the maximum out-shedding of buses so that passengers could reach to their destination easily.Meanwhile, All Indian Trade Union Congress along with its associated 14 auto unions today decided to stay away from the proposed strike after meeting Transport Minister. The members of delegation also raised certain issues related to their demands to Mr. Gowswami.The officers of Transport Department present in the meeting responded to it and stated that Department would look into the issues related to their demands within 15 days.
