Delhi Assembly passes Salary, Allowances and Pension Amendment Bills 2022

<span style="color: #222222;">The Delhi Assembly today passed the Salary, Allowances and Pension Amendment Bills 2022 on the first day of its two-day Special Session. The bill intends to increase the salaries and allowances and pension of Ministers, members of legislative assembly, Chief Whip, Speaker and Deputy Speaker and leader of opposition from 54 thousand rupees to around 90 thousand rupees. After passing, the bill will be sent to the President of India for approval.<br />''<br />''Earlier in the day, Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs Minister of Delhi, Kailash Gehlot tabled the Salaries, Allowances and Pension Amendment Bills 2022 in the house for consideration and passing.<br />''<br />''Speaking about the increase in the salaries and allowances, Delhi Finance Minister welcomed the decision, saying the increase will help the members of the legislative assembly face the current rising inflation without any difficulty.  Earlier, newly-elected MLA from Rajindra Nagar constituency Durgesh Pathak took the oath as the member of the Delhi legislative assembly and assumed his seat in the house.</span>
