Delhi assembly passes DSSDI Bill by voice vote

The Delhi Assembly on Wednesday passed the Delhi Geo- Spatial Data Infrastructure( Management, Control, Administration, Security and Safety ) DSSDI Bill – 2011 by voice vote. Highlighting the main features of the Bill in the House, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit said that Delhi is the first state to bring the bill and will strengthen the DSSDI project which was launched to frame and implement policies for issues related geo- spatial data. She said that the Bill aims at creating , updating, managing, disseminating and sharing geo – spatial system and application which will serve as a base for planning and executing various development projects. The Chief Minister said 30 departments including local bodies and public authorities have been brought under the ambit of the project. She said the Bill after becoming an act will prove to be a substantial factor in ensuring a better work culture in the national capital.
