On the fourth day of Delhi Assembly on Thursday, the House witnessed multiple adjournments over protests by BJP MLAs against alleged "anti-farmer" policies of Delhi government. When the House assembled for the business, BJP legislators created ruckus against the price fixed by the Delhi government in its notifications to acquire about two and a half hectares of land of the farmers of Nangli Razapur village. These MLAs alleged that the Delhi government has announced a compensation of just 22 lakh rupees per hectare in lieu of this costly land located on Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar UP Link Road. Terming this move of the Delhi government as injustice to the farmers, BJP MLAs reminded that AAP-ruled city government during its first tenure promised to give compensation of five crore rupees against the same land. They requested Delhi government to consider the current market price of the land and increase the amount of compensation to 15 crore rupees per acre. Due to continuous shouting by them, Speaker Ram Niwas Geol marshalled them out of the House. Later, all the BJP MLAs staged walkout from the House. The Session has been adjourned sine die.
