A 14-year-old girl from Manipur was allegedly raped by her landlord's son in South Delhi's Munirka area. Delhi Police say, the accused has been arrested after an FIR was registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Vasant Vihar Police Station.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari termed the incident as unfortunate. Talking to reporters, Tewari said, the incident is reprehensible and the guilty should be brought to book.

Terming the incident as shameful, Chairperson of Delhi Women Commission Barkha Singh said the girl is out of danger and safe.

Meanwhile, protests erupted in the South Delhi locality demanding stern punishment against the culprit. The protestors tried to break through the entry gate of Vasant Vihar police station leading to scuffle with the police.
